For the most part many of us living in North America are not familiar or educated as to what actually happened for the Indigenous people living here at the time of the arrival of Europeans. All the way from the Spaniards coming to Mexico and North to Alaska many cruel and harsh actions were taken against the native people who had occupied the land for thousands of years. The Residential School System was just one way that was used to assimilate and arillate the original people of the land. Laurie will be interviewing survivors, policy makers and leaders who are involved in the healing of this horrific institution.
