I interviewed this loving young married couple on Feb.24th, 2021. They mentioned that they both are originally from Jamaica but now live in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

They advised that the name of their book is: “Our Life’s Journey”..The Past, The Present and The Future. They advised that they were motivated to write a book together based on the realization that it would remind them of their marriage vows and the sacred bond it created between. Samantha is a registered psychotherapist and teacher of special needs kids while Donovan is a gospel artist, songwriter and singer and that their careers strongly influenced their book.

Valerie Dixon has launched her thought-provoking book- Too Black to Succeed – The FINSAC Experience and describes it as “a book full of uncomfortable but necessary truths.” She aims to engage Jamaicans at home and across the global Diaspora, especially the millennial generation, who she feels need to be more conscious of the important socio-economic factors from the past, which may still be determining the quality of their lives and their future. She also hopes to reach all races, who may wish to understand why most black people are so earnest in their quest for equality, equal rights and justice.

Author D N Miller lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is not only an Author but a Book Publisher, Radio Host and Writing Coach as well. This she accomplished after only being in the book writing business for two years.

Her books include “While He Sleeps” which is a gripping crime packed story with drama and mystery with unforeseen plot twists. Other books she wrote include Queens Table, Sis. Stop Chasing Him.

Her recent Book is called The Museum which deals with the trauma of a young girl who was brutally raped at 16 and her memoirs continues haunt her through her adult life. She then creates a secret society of women to seek revenge on men.

The Author Mr. Vassell Ramsay is originally from Jamaica where he attended Calabar High School. He subsequently attended Moneague Teacher’s College and then taught for a few years at Ocho Rios High School, St. Ann, Jamaica.

After migrating to Canada, he attended York University in Toronto where he graduated with a Sociology degree and worked as a Probation Officer up until his retirement recently.

The Book “The Answers to Obstacles in One’s Life” is an insight into Jonas’ journey from the age of 19 to 24 when she published the book. It gives a keen look into her life and the lessons she learned along the way.
“ The points in my life where I was searching trying to find myself, the times when I had a lot of questions to answers especially when it came to motherhood, I believe that it can assist other young people as they chart their own life-journeys.”

Jonas reckons the book, which follows the Q.A.A.C structure of Question Answer Action and Consequence, has done well because of the investment she put into it.

Ms. Mary Romney-Schaab is the Author of the Book..” An Afro-Caribbean in the Nazi Era: It is a book about her father, Lionel Romney, a black man from the Caribbean who was held prisoner in a Nazi Camp and was one of the relatively few black people to be imprisoned in the Nazy Concentration system during the Second World War.

She mentioned that her father told her about his inhumane and near-starvation experiences in a series of oral history interviews she recorded with him and that his own words are the basis of her book. She eventually visited the concentration camp and offered her perspective in the book.

Mary Romney-Schaab was born in New York City, but her roots are in the Caribbean island nation of St. Maarten. A retired educator, she spent over 40 years teaching English as a second or foreign language in Madrid, New York, Barcelona, and Connecticut. She has traveled extensively in Europe, including visits to the site of the concentration camps where her father was imprisoned in Austria and Italy. She has an Ed.M. in Instructional Technology, and an M.A. in the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), both from Columbia University; an M.A. in Spanish, and a B.A. in Spanish, both from Middlebury College. She is interested in languages, culture, and African Diaspora history.
